Amrita Trikatu Churn (Ref: Sushruta Samhita) is a traditional herbal formulation containing three bitter herbs mixed together in equal quantities (Dried fruits of Piper nigrum (Kali Mirch), Piper longum (Pippali), and dried Zingiber officinale (Saunth))
Trikatu Churna plays an essential role in balancing aggravated Kapha in the respiratory and digestive tract. It also stimulates the stomach to produce digestive enzymes to promote the digestion of food and increase appetite. It increases the production of bile juices, and bile salt secretion.
In Sanskrit, Tri means three and katu means herbs that are hot and pungent, hence trikatu is the ‘Power trinity’, a combination of three powerful herbs.
